Bryan Air Force Base T-bird TA-243 T-33A Shooting Star 1954 1955

Another picture from Bryan Air Force Base in the year 1954 or 1955. I didn’t write the names of the people in the picture down, so my family doesn’t know who they are. In the background there’s a plain with the number TA-243. That’s a T-bird or a T-33A Shooting Star. I flew that plane on the 16^th of December 1954 for 1:15 hours with my instructor Mc. Donald R.F. We did a formation, lazy eights and some turns. I served at the 3531 Pilot Training Squadron at that time. I’ve got a picture of my instructor as well. I’ve written down ‘that’s so’, my family wonders if anyone would remember if that was somewhat of his favorite line?

Een andere dia van de basis Byran Air Force base in het jaar 1954 of 1955. Ik heb de namen van de mensen in de dia niet genoteerd, dus mijn familie weet niet wie het zijn. In de achtergrond is een vliegtuig te zien met het nummer TA-243. Dat is een T-bird ook wel T-33A Shooting Star genoemd. Ik vloog dit vliegtuig op 16 december 1954 voor 1:15 uur met mijn instructeur Mc. Donald R.F. De oefening was een formatie, achtjes en wat bochten draaien. Ik zat toen bij het 3531 Pilot Training Squadron. Ik heb een dia van mijn instructeur ook. Ik heb daarbij geschreven ‘is dat zo’, mijn familie vraagt zich af of iemand zich kan herinneren of dat een van zijn favorieten uitspraken was.

So, this is me on the wing of a T-28a Trojan with the registration number 51-3563. It’s a shame I can’t see the number of the plane, because then I could tell you the exact date this picture was taken. It’s between 27^th of September year 1954 and 2^th of November the year 1954. Perhaps the date 20^th,21^th October, or 1^th November because then I flew a 2 ship formation and as you can see I have a picture of a fellow pilot. His name is Rob de Blecourt (R.A.S. de Blecourt).   I’ve flown 60 times with this type of plane in a total of 37:45 hours. My squadron was 3530^th Sturon / Bryan Air Force Base and from the 1th of November the 3531^th Bryan Air Force Base

Zo, dit ben ik op de vleugel van een T-28a Trojan met het registratienummer 51-3563. Het is jammer dat ik niet het nummer van het vliegtuig kan zien, want dan kon ik je vertellen wanneer deze dia precies is genomen. Het is tussen 27 september 1954 en 2 november 1954. Misschien wel 20 of 21 oktober of 1 november, omdat ik toen in een twee formatie heb gevlogen. En zoals je kan zien heb ik ook een dia van een collega piloot. Zijn naam is Rob de Blecourt. (R.A.S. de Blecourt). Ik heb 60 keer gevlogen met dit type vliegtuig in totaal 37:45 uur. In het squadron 3530th Sturon / Bryan Air Force Base en af 1 november het 3531th Bryan Air Force Base.
